Hotel Air Conditioning

Air-conditioning in hotels or air conditioning for hotels and gyms across the United States and Canada has become an essential part of ensuring guests have a comfortable experience. At Applied Comfort, we understand the complex air conditioning requirements that are unique to the hospitality industry.

The use of hotel air conditioning has made massive improvements in recent years and is now one of the most efficient means of heating and cooling these buildings. Specifying very efficient air conditioning systems within hotels needs to consider the additional redundancy required for high season, but also operate extremely efficiently during periods of low demand. That said, overestimating the redundancy needed for high season will unnecessarily drive up installation costs, so a balance needs to be struck.

This is where we can help, right from the design and selection of equipment, laying them out, testing and commissioning, it is done in the right way meeting the highest standards in the industry.

Design considerations: High efficiency, Roof space, Occupancy variations, Individual, room control, Quiet operation, Airflow, Odour Control, Ease of maintenance, Condensate drainage

Different parts of hotels will have different air conditioning requirements.

We know that guests requirements for heating and cooling can vary enormously, especially if they have just arrived from overseas. Your public areas such as receptions, bars and restaurants need different air conditioning to your gyms, spas and treatment rooms. Added to this, more and more hotels offer conferencing facilities where air conditioning is now the expected norm.

Air Conditioning for Hotel Bedrooms (1-40 room hotels)

Traffic noise or security concerns may mean bedroom windows are kept shut, so air conditioning is essential to provide a comfortable room environment. The key air conditioning requirements for hotel rooms is individual temperature and humidity control, quiet operation and now more commonly, odour filtration.

Air conditioning in hotels with any number of rooms is usually best achieved using low-cost PTAC units. They can be built directly into a wall and as PTAC units are self-contained, there’s no need for any drain piping. How can that be?

Well, a handy condenser fan directs all condensate water pulled from the air to the surface of the condenser coil. The condensate water then evaporates. It’s convenient, effective, and reduces installation costs by a broad margin.

At Applied Comfort we offer outstanding value on a wide range of units from our top-mounted hydronic heat NY Series to our cost-effective CALM 42 Series with either fixed or inverter heat pump built-in.

Hotel Air Conditioning of Public Areas (Bars, Restaurants & Receptions)

Since bars, night-clubs and restaurants are likely to have more clientle during hot weather, these combined heat sources make air conditioning often essential. This is also true for the gym and fitness centre, that also have the added requirement for odour control in changing rooms. We at Applied Comfort offer a large number of low cost air condition options such as our newly launched VTAC system. The discreet design and vertical housing allow the unit to be easily installed in a closet, without losing performance.

Air Conditioning Hotel Meeting and Conference Rooms

This is a regular source of revenue for hotels and a growing requirement for developing businesses to have meetings away from their office premises. Since companies are paying for these services, business guests are often even more discerning than your usual guests and they have certain expectations based on previous experiences.

Air conditioning within meeting rooms is essential as these rooms often have a large number of people in a confined space for prolonged periods and usually need windows closed to prevent outside noise from traffic, pedestrians or aircraft. They often have extra heat generated from increased lighting and projector equipment. Food is often served in these rooms, so odour control also needs to be considered.

The Applied Comfort PTAC air conditioning range has many units that can help with meeting room cooling. The VTAC, 16 Series, EA Series and SDC/SUC Series that has commercial duty construction and acoustic noise cancelling materials provides a rugged, reliable unit with quiet operation perfect for keeping the room cool, without creating a distraction.
